Online access to your portfolio
Access to portfolios is available via the internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Clients and their advisers will be provided with a secure user-ID and password to access their personal accounts.
Up-to-date portfolio valuations
Portfolio valuations are continually updated to reflect the latest price for each holding. Through the online service, clients and advisers are able to review:
- The list of securities the client is invested in
- The quantity of each security the client holds
- The current unit price and valuation for the client’s holdings
- The gain or loss on each asset
- An estimation of the income that has been declared so far this financial year.
Clients and advisers can also easily recalculate portfolios to any historic date they wish to review the past position of the portfolio.
Portfolio reporting
To help keep track of portfolios and aid timely decision-making, PORTFOLIOLINK provides a comprehensive range of portfolio reports including:
- Portfolio Valuation
- Transaction History
- Portfolio Performance
- Holding Performance
- Realised and Unrealised Capital Gains
- Income
- Tax reports.
Reports can be printed if you wish to keep a hard copy for future reference.
Keeping track of corporate actions
For those investors who hold direct equities, keeping track of corporate actions can be one of the most difficult tasks of administering portfolios. PORTFOLIOLINK will automatically update the client’s portfolio with any new corporate actions relating to their holdings. Clients and their advisers will then have the option to confirm or adjust the corporate action depending on the action taken.
This process ensures that all tax parcels for the clients’ investments are accurately recorded - crucial for optimising capital gains positions.
Mailing House
PORTFOLIOLINK can receive all client portfolio-related mail.
Optimised capital gains processing
Many portfolio administration services only provide one method for calculating client’s capital gains tax liability: First In First Out (FIFO). With PORTFOLIOLINK, one has a choice of methods to allocate sell transactions against unrealised tax parcels.
The method chosen by the client can result in substantial differences in their tax position and different methods may be appropriate for different entities depending on their tax requirements. Whichever method the client chooses, PORTFOLIOLINK’S inbuilt tax engine will take into account available losses and distribute capital gains to optimise the outcome for the client’s portfolio.
PORTFOLIOLINK enables the client’s adviser to easily switch between allocation methods including:
- Minimise Gain – choose parcels to delay gains
- Maximise Gain – choose parcels to accelerate gains
- Manual – manually pick parcels to sell
- First In First Out – selects oldest parcels first.
